INGLEWOOD, Calif. (August 3, 2012)—Hollywood Juvenile Championship winner Scherer Magic will try to remain undefeated in the $150,000 Best Pal Stakes Sunday at Del Mar.

A Grade II for 2-year-olds at 6 ½ furlongs over Cushion Track, the Best Pal is the eighth of nine races Sunday. Post time is 2 p.m. Track gates at Betfair Hollywood Park will open at 10 a.m. for simulcasts.

In his initial race after being claimed for $50,000 by trainer John Sadler for owners Gary and Cecil Barber, Scherer Magic rallied to win the Grade III Juvenile by 2 ½ lengths. This Cushion Track score came one month after he debuted with a 7 ¼ length romp over maidens.

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (August 2, 2012)—Switch, who ended an eight-race losing streak in the $200,000 A Gleam Handicap July 14 at Betfair Hollywood Park, will try to go back-to-back in the $300,000 Clement L. Hirsch Saturday at Del Mar.

A Grade I for older fillies and mares at 1 1/16 miles over Polytrack, the Hirsch is the eighth of 10 races. Post time Saturday is 2 p.m. Track gates at Betfair Hollywood Park will open at 10 a.m. for simulcasts.

Owned by Lee and Susan Searing’s C R K Stable and trained by John Sadler, Switch’s 1 ¾ length victory in the Grade II A Gleam was her first since she took the Grade I Santa Monica Jan. 30, 2011 at Santa Anita.

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (August 1, 2012)—Rousing Sermon, runner-up behind Liaison in the Grade I CashCall Futurity last Dec. 17 at Betfair Hollywood Park, will aim for his first win of 2012 in the $200,000 Real Good Deal Stakes Friday at Del Mar.

A seven furlong race for 3-year-olds and part of the Golden State series for California breds, the Real Good Deal is the seventh of eight races. Post time is 4 p.m. Track gates at Betfair Hollywood Park will open at 10 a.m. for simulcasts.

Owned by breeders Mr. and Mrs. Larry D. Williams and trained by Hall of Famer Jerry Hollendorfer, Rousing Sermon will be making his first start in a non-graded event since he finished second to Liaison in the Real Quiet Stakes last Nov. 12 at Betfair Hollywood Park.

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (July 27, 2012)—Comma to the Top, whose biggest win came in the 2010 CashCall Futurity, will seek the second Grade I of his career in the $300,000 Bing Crosby Handicap Sunday at Del Mar.

Scheduled for six furlongs over Polytrack, the Crosby is the eighth of 10 races. Post time Sunday is 2 p.m. Track gates at Betfair Hollywood Park will open at 10 a.m. for simulcasts.

Owned by Gary Barber, Roger Birnbaum and Kevin Tsujihara and trained by Peter Miller, Comma to the Top rattled off three consecutive stakes wins as a 2-year-old during the Autumn meet at Betfair Hollywood Park. Before the 1 ¾ length score in the Futurity, the Bwana Charlie gelding won the Real Quiet and the Grade III Generous on turf.

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (July 26, 2012)—Rail Trip, the upset winner of the 2009 Hollywood Gold Cup a year before he was second as the favorite in the Grade I, will seek his first victory as a 7-year-old in the $200,000 San Diego Handicap Saturday at Del Mar.

A Grade II at 1 1/16 miles over Polytrack, the San Diego is the eighth of 10 races. Post time Saturday is 2 p.m. Track gates at Betfair Hollywood Park will open at 10 a.m. for simulcasts.

Owned by Samantha Siegel’s Jay Em Ess Stable and trained by Ron Ellis, Rail Trip has been fourth and second in his first two races of 2012. The gelded son of Jump Start was fourth behind Roman Threat, stablemate Centralinteligence and eventual Triple Bend Handicap winner Camp Victory in the Grade III Los Angeles Handicap May 28 at Betfair Hollywood Park.
