INGLEWOOD, Calif. (June 17, 2009) — Reba Is Tops and Queen Ofthe Catsle, one-two finishers, respectively, in the Lawndale here in May, will meet again in Friday night’s $70,000-added Great Lady M. Handicap at Hollywood Park.
Reba Is Tops took command in the stretch and held off Queen Ofthe Catsle by one length in the five-furlong Lawndale. The pair will travel six furlongs over the Lakeside Turf Course in the Great Lady M, which will line up as follows from the rail out:
Reba Is Tops, with Joseph Talamo up, will carry 119 pounds; Elletelle, Brice Blanc, 114; Porto Marmay, David Flores, 115; Queen Ofthe Catsle, Victor Espinoza, 121, and Royal Taat, Rafael Bejarano, 116.
Reba Is Tops, beaten a nose in the Grade II Las Cienegas Handicap in April, has won nine of 16 starts for earnings of $224,945.
Queen Ofthe Catsle has six wins and six seconds in 14 starts for earnings of $312,769. She has a pair of wins and a pair of seconds in four starts on the Hollywood Park turf course.
Irish-bred Elletelle, seventh in the Lawndale here in May, will be making her third Southern California start; Porto Marmay, also an Irish-bred, has won one of 10 North American starts and three of 16 overall, and New Zealand-bred Royal Taataims for her fourth win in six starts since coming to the U.S.
